Having spent months turning my nose up at even the slightest whiff of dubstep, recently I’ve started to become soft. After an awesome, funked-out EP from Gramatik, genre-bending jams from GRiZ and now this track from Savoy and Heather Bright, I’m starting to question myself. Has dubstep gotten better?
It used to be the case that the seeming purpose of dubstep was to recreate the audio of robots fucking, but maybe the sound has begun to mature. As producers begin to bring in elements from other genres and spend time crafting more traditional song structures, they keep the excitement of dubstep while making it more palatable (less obnoxious) to a wider audience.
Do you agree or does this all sound like some kind of desperate attempt at justication?

I agree, it’s moved in on me over the past while, and I also think is has started to develop into something a little more… digestible. This track is nice.
