Acrylics – “Nightwatch”

The 90s are the new 80s

Brooklyn based Acrylics are starting to make a name for themselves on the indie scene with Lives and Treasure released earlier this year and some good buzz at the last CMJ. Caption jokes aside, they owe more influence to the sounds of the 60s and 70s, with sweeping guitars reminiscent of something Fleetwood Mac would do. In a world with too much clunky electronic or grating indie rock, Acrylics are a smooth blend. Perfect for a summer afternoon or a long drive. Close your eyes, take another drag of that cigarette and smile.
